PENGARUH METODE OBJEK LANGSUNG TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS DESKRIPSI OLEH SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 2 SIPOHOLON TAHUN PEMBELAJARAN 2021/2022.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Direct Object Method on the Ability to Write Descriptive Texts by Grade VII Students of SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon Academic Year 2021/2022 with a total of 125 students. The sample of this research is 34 students using Random Sampling technique. The instrument used to collect data is assignment. The method used in this study is an experimental method, with a One-group Pre-test and Post-Test Design. Hypothesis testing is done using the "t" test. From data processing, the results obtained for the ability to write descriptive text before using the direct object method for class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon in the 2021/2022 academic year are as follows: very good category 2 people or 5.88%, good category 11 people or 32, 35%, enough category 15 people or 46.87% and less category 6 people or 17.65%. While the ability to write descriptive text using the direct object method is in the very good category as many as 17 people or 50%, in the good category as many as 9 people or 26.47%, in the sufficient category 8 people or 23.53%, and in the less category there is none or 0 %. After the normality and homogeneity tests, a t0 of 2.16 was obtained, then consulted the t table at the 5% or 1% level with df = (N1+N2) – 2 = (30+30) – 2 = 58. In the t table with df level = 58 obtained a significant level of 5% = 2.00 and a significant level of 1% = 2.16 because the t0 obtained is greater than ttable, namely 2.00 <12.79 > 2.16, then the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.
