Abstract

This research was conducted in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Siborongborong in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research has been carried out in the even semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The population of this study were all 7th grade students of SMP VIII. And the sample set was two classes, namely one control class VIIIb and one experimental class VIIIe. This type of research is an experimental study to determine the effect of the Project-Based learning model on the ability to write editorials. The data collection technique in this study was an assignment to write an editorial. Based on the discussion and research results in chapter IV, it can be concluded in this study that the ability of class VIII students of SMP N 2 Siborongborong in writing editorials in the control class or using conventional learning models has an average value of 56.78. The ability of class VIII students of SMP N 2 Siborongborong in writing editorials in the experimental class or by using the Project-Based learning model has an average score of 75.22, so the difference in the average posttest of the experimental and control groups is 18.44. Based on the results of the calculation, the result of tcount is 2.073. With dk = n1 + n2 – 2 = 32 + 32 - 2 = 62, with dk 62 and an error level of 0.05%, the critical price t or ttable is obtained at a significant level of 0.05% of 2. By comparing the "t" which obtained in the calculation (t = 2.073) and the amount of t listed in the table value "t" ( tt.ts. 0.05% = 2), it can be seen that tcount is greater than ttable, namely: 2,073 > 2. So it can be concluded There is an influence of the Project-Based learning model on the Ability of Class VIII Students to Write Editorial Plans for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
