Abstract

This research has been carried out in the even semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The population of this study was all students of class VIII SMP N 210 students. And the sample set is two classes, namely one control class and one experimental class. This type of research is an experimental study to determine the effect of conventional methods using blog media in writing short stories. Based on the discussion and research results in chapter IV, it can be concluded in this study that the value obtained by students increased after using blog media compared to the use of conventional/lecture methods applied by teachers in the field of study in learning to write short stories. Before using the blog media, only 6 students were able to get a score of 75 and above and 24 students who got a score below 75. Meanwhile, the ability to write short stories in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Siborongborong using blog media was as many as 20 students who were able to get a score of 75 to the top. On the other hand, 10 students scored below 75. After calculating based on the results of inferential statistics, the type of t-test design 2 obtained the t-count value: 10.01. The test criteria are H0 is accepted if t count < t table and H0 is rejected if t count > t table. The value of t table = db = 1 = 30 -1 = 29. At a significant level of 0.95% obtained = 1.70, it turns out that t count > t table. Based on these calculations, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, the use of blog media is effectively applied in learning to write short stories for class IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Siborongborong.
