PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE PROBLEM TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENGAPRESIASI CERPEN OLEH SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 3 SIBORONGBORONG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2021/2022

Abstract

The Influence of the Use of Problem Solving  Methods on the Ability to Appreciate Short Stories by Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 3 Siborongborong in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. This study aims to determine the effect of using Problem Solving  methods on the ability to appreciate short stories by class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Siborongborong. This research is an experimental study with a two group pre-test-post-test design. Siborongborong for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 125 students. Determination of the sample is done by random sampling technique. Then the selected sample was divided into a control group and an experimental group. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there was an effect of using Problem Solving  methods on the ability to appreciate short stories by class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Siborongborong for the Academic Year 2021/2022. The results of the analysis show that the post-test mean of the experimental group is higher than the control group. This is supported by the results of hypothesis testing (t-test) which shows that the value is 1.996. Thus, it can be concluded that the method of using Problem Solving  is better than the lecture learning method.
