PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KONTEKSTUAL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENGAPRESIASI CERPEN OLEH SISWA KELAS X SMK HKBP SARULLA TAHUN PEMBELAJARAN 2021/2022.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Learning Model on the Ability to Appreciate Short Stories by Class X Students of SMK HKBP Sarulla in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The population in this study were all class X students of SMK HKBP Sarulla in the 2021/2022 Academic Year, a total of 106 people consisting of 3 classes. In determining the number of samples carried out by using Purposive Sampling technique. The instrument used is a multiple choice objective test of 20 questions. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a One-group Pre-test and Post-Test Design. Hypothesis testing is done using the "t" test. From data processing, the average value of the Pre-test = 58.92, standard deviation = 8.79, standard error = 1.69 is obtained. In the Post-test, the average value = 77.67, standard deviation = 7.61, standard error = 1.46. Based on the normality test, the results of the pre-test and post-test are normally distributed. The value of F is obtained from the table with a significant level = 0.05 or F_0 (n1 – 1n2 - 1) F_count <F_table or 1.33 <4.20 so it can be concluded that the sample comes from a homogeneous population. The results of the calculation of the "t" test obtained the value of t_0 = 8.40. After t_0 is known, then this value will be consulted with table 1 at a significant level of 5% of 2.05. Based on the calculations that have been done, it can be seen that t_0> t_table, namely 8.40 > 2.05. Thus H_0 (Nil Hypothesis) is rejected and H_a (Alternative Hypothesis) is accepted. Based on the data above, it can be concluded that the contextual learning model has an effect on the ability to appreciate short stories by class X students of SMK HKBP Sarulla in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
