KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PUISI BEBAS SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 1 SIPOHOLON TAHUN AJARAN 2022/2023

Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) the ability to write free poetry for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon in terms of the physical structure of the poem; 2) The ability to write free poetry for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon in terms of the inner structure of poetry. The design used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Quantitative descriptive is a research design that describes research variables in the form of numbers or statistics obtained from the results of a written test. These numbers or statistics are an illustration of the ability of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon in writing a poem. The population of this study, namely the entire seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon totaling 245 people divided into 8 classes. The population of this study is homogeneous. The sample in this study consisted of one class taken at random from the population of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon, the class selected was class VII-6. The data collection technique used in this study is a test technique. The test technique was conducted to determine the level of students' understanding of the material about poetry. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive quantitative statistical analysis technique. From the overall analysis of student data regarding the ability to write free poetry for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon in terms of the physical structure of poetry, it is stated that students have not been able to write free poetry in accordance with the value of the results of student data analysis with an average value of 60.62 (enough), still lacking. from the predetermined completeness value of 75. From the overall analysis of student data about the ability to write free poetry for class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon in terms of the inner structure of poetry, it is stated that students have not been able to write free poetry according to the value of the results of student data analysis with an average value 67.13 (enough), still less than the predetermined completeness value of 75.
